We have a comprehensive beginners' course that will give you a sound introduction to beekeeping. The course is suitable for people who have recently started beekeeping, are thinking of taking up the hobby or those who want a bit more information about beekeeping.

 The course consists of indoor sessions to learn more about bees, equipment, methods and diseases. There are then opportunities for you to have hands on experience at hives belonging to other beekeepers. 

If you decide to become a beekeeper then the association will offer you a beekeeping buddy to help you through your first year as a beekeeper.

 The 2010 beginners class is now well underway, however you can contact us to express a desire to attend the 2011 classes.  The location of these will be notified here as soon as committee has finalised arrangements.  Please contact Peter Hunt, via the contact us link on the left.
